"I stay here a lot because of proximity to Penn Station and generally good prices. On this stay the prices jumped up 3x mid stay. The property itself, while having a classic grand and very buzzy/crowded lobby, has a rundown feel in the room area. The hall carpets are worn and taped, the rooms cramped and old-feeling. No room fridge or coffee maker, tiny closet and substandard plumbing that's noisy at night and with very erratic water temperature. In a neighborhood that's both mobbed with tourists and full of aggressive homeless."

"Staff were friendly enough but my room wasn’t the cleanest. Attention to detail was missed with marks and sellotape all over the door and a discoloured toilet seat and weak shower. The bed was clean, however, I did have to request the sheets to be changed by the 4th night. "

"It is a nice size room for NY, clean and functional. We rented a room with two double beds (4 adults) and we all were comfortable. It is fairly quiet, the neighborhood is decent, subway is just 150 feet from the hotel door and it is a short walk to Central Park. Great restaurants in the area on Amsterdam Ave. Staff were very friendly and helpful and didn't mind keeping our suitcases on the last day after check out until we had to head to the airport. Will definitely book here again when I go to NY"
